Confidentiality & Privacy
Counseling sessions are completely confidential and protected by the law. However, there are a few exceptions to confidentiality, which have to do with protecting your safety and the safety of others. In the following instances, I will have report to the appropriate agency. Please be assured that I will try to speak with you about this individually before I make a report.
If you share with me that you:
If I reasonably suspect:
If a judge in a court of law were to request your records
For all other instances or releasing your records, you would sign a release of information stating that you want me to share your information with that particular party. Please ask any and all questions you have about confidentiality and the limits of confidentiality.

- Have a plan and intent to harm yourself
- Have a plan and intent to harm someone else
If I reasonably suspect:
- Child abuse (including the downloading of child pornography)
- Elder abuse
- Abuse of dependent adults
