“Trauma is personal. It does not disappear if it is not validated. When it is ignored or invalidated the silent screams continue internally heard only by the one held captive. When someone enters the pain and hears the screams healing can begin.”

More about Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy for PTSD
Traumatic experiences occur all the time. Not everyone develops Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Some do. If you are wondering if you have PTSD, you have already been diagnosed with PTSD, or you have tried traditional talk therapy with limited benefit, consider trying Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD. PE helps you face your traumatic experience rather than avoid it. Avoidance maintains PTSD. Facing your trauma helps you to move past it. Sharing your trauma can feel scary, which is why so many people avoid talking about it with anyone. However, talking through it with an experienced clinician who will help you move past your stuck points can help give you your life back.

Healing from trauma can take many forms. Prolonged Exposure is an evidence-based therapy with enormous success in treating PTSD. I am certified in and able to provide PE for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Please see links below for more information. The US Department of Veteran's Affairs has a wonderful video that also explains this treatment (see below). If you are interested in this form of therapy, please mention this during our phone consultation.
